A quarter of a century since The Smiths disbanded and Marr has moulded himself into something of a jobbing  guitarist since. Linking up with  a multitude of notables, it is only now that we get the fullon solo album. Always shying away from the limelight, there’s perhaps an air of uncertainty about the album. Marr’s vocals are indistinctive, although his song-writing abilities are clear.

What does stand out is how fine a guitarist he has become; the backbone to a set of indie rock tunes that sit comfortably amongst his contemporaries, displaying several influences but none more so than himself. His best work for twenty-five years.
