Chart-topping act in action…

April 11th saw Elbow headline the First Direct Arena, Leeds in support of their recently released album, ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’.

The album, the Bury band’s sixth studio set, debuted at number one in the UK, and also cracked the top 100 on the US Billboard chart – impressive stuff. It was also number one in Belgium – nice work, Lowlands fans.

Clash’s Danny Payne was at the Leeds gig to capture Guy Garvey and colleagues in action – check out the shots in our gallery above.  Elbow played tracks from across their catalogue, with six cuts from 2008’s ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ aired beside four from their latest LP and three from 2011’s ‘Build A Rocket Boys!’.

The band closed with their stirring anthem ‘One Day Like This’. Obviously.
