Moving beyond novelty cover versions
Hayseed Dixie - Killer Grass

Hayseed Dixie might have made their name with bluegrass versions of heavy metal classics, but there is more to them a bunch of novelty tunes.

Their latest CD mixes more country-fied songs by the Prodigy and The Who, with original tracks. Their version of The Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ is a success but the best tracks are still John Wheeler’s original songs. He might have made his name with cover tunes, but he’s a force to be reckoned with in his own right. He is one of the wittiest and pluckiest songwriters around. Anyone who writes a love letter to Norfolk girls has got to be worth hearing.
