Like Bobby Ewing, Dirty Den and Freddie Krugar, you can never write Shaun Ryder off as dead and buried.
Just when he seemed destined for a life of “how much coke does he weigh?” TV appearances, back he came with that brilliant vocal on Gorillaz’ DARE. Now the Mondays are reunited (again) and have recently released their first album in 14 years. This is the first official single from it and if Dysfunktional Uncle’s understated funk and Ryder’s brilliantly simple word play are anything to go by, the Mondays have lost none of their low-slung, sleazy charm.
