Gorillaz – The Singles Collection: 2001-2011

I defy you not to dance

What could have been little more than a gang hut indulgence project from Albarn, Hewlett and co has spawned four albums and weathered the test of a decade well. This fifteen-track collection of singles, videos and remixes are collected together in a celebration of goofy gloriousness. Consistently surprising, fanciful and varied, each genre flip, from pop, dub and hip-hop to rap is traversed with ease. The zombie disco, lush strings and unusual samples remain impressive, as do the roll call of incredible collaborators; the lush tones of Stylo with its badass Bobby Womack vocal are an absolute killer. I defy you not to dance.
