Documenting the secretive spaces within the massive sky-reaching monoliths of New York, Cameron Mesirow (aka Glasser) finds inspiration in new production partner Van Rivers and the architectural writings of Rem Koolhaass for this second studio album.
We move through multi-levelled spaces with myriad partitions within; some areas are reminiscent of David Sylvian’s deep ambient orientalism, others Brian Eno at his most avant-garde. Mesirow’s vibrant voice carries through these concrete caverns, like light through an atrium, warm and illuminating.
‘Interiors’ is an expansive, fiercely intelligent investigative work. Here is one of the few female artists picking up the relay baton from Kate Bush and Björk and running, fleet-footed, with it into the future.
