Paris-based DJ Mike Levy aka Gesaffelstein’s rise over the last few years has been a gilded one. Backed by Tiga, boasting production credits for Kanye West, and one-half of the relentless Bromance tag team, this momentum pulses through ‘Aleph’.
From the tom-tom thump of opener of ‘Out Of Line’ to the twisted electro of ‘Trans’, the beats hit with a thundering mechanical heft.
Take the clanking industrial techno of ‘Obsession’ that smacks like a Nine Inch Nails vs Proxy fight in an Eastern Bloc basement, or the heavy sub-bounce of ‘Hellifornia’, which could soundtrack a Los Santos low-ride.
Add it all together and you’ve got a debut LP to make everyone run for cover.
