The first single from their forthcoming album, Midnight Organ Fight, signals very good thing to follow.
Simple drums and an insistent scurrying guitar carry the ever-present observant, poignant lyrics - “Jesus is just a Spanish boys name” and “when heads roll off, someone else’s will turn” It’s all about the juxtaposition of big gestures and little contributions. The track marks a progression for the trio – the musical arrangement is murkier but it still manages to retain a heartfelt folk quality. An affirming modern day hymn musing on religion, mortality and philosophy – it’s full of stark Bible imagery that contrast with its delicious and amusing atheistic conclusions.
