Frankie Rose – Interstellar

Widescreen magnificence

There is a passage of music on ‘Pair Of Wings’, one of the standout tracks on this, Frankie’s second solo album (and first without her Outs), that is so perfectly beautiful it could tend even the most blackened heart. Frankie’s mournful vocal and the warm glow of a hymnal organ envelop a stargazing melody. It’s a gorgeous example of an album bursting with huge, dreamy songs. Produced by remixing supremo Le Chev, gone are the previous fuzz and reverb of Rose’s 2010 debut, to be replaced by excellence like the bubblegum-pop gem ‘Know Me’ and the stunning, piano-led ‘Apples For The Sun’. Widescreen magnificence.
