An anachronistic invention

If you heard San Francisco’s Dominant Legs on the radio without any knowledge of who you were, you may well think you’d be magically transported back to the mid-’80s and a time when Paul Simon’s ‘You Can Call Me Al’ ruled the airwaves. Because ‘Invitation’ - the debut album from this duo - is an incredibly anachronistic invention. So much so, that you wonder if the likes of ‘Where We Trip The Light’ and ‘Already Know That It’s Nice’ weren’t cryogenically frozen some twenty-five years ago and recently brought back to life. As such, it’s more a relic of the past than a record of the future.
