The much-touted Cazals returns with their best single so far, though seeing as this reviewer has not been one of the toutees, let’s not get carried away with that statement.
The self-pitying Somebody, Somewhere features a decent riff reminiscent of The Rakes’ take on new wave. It’s a more mature sound relying on quiet confidence than the usual braggart guitars of their previous singles (and the b-side here, Success). This assurance leaves them with no qualms about a chorus bursting with pop hooks nabbed from The Police, nor with interjecting their customary unnecessary, but presumably crowd-pleasing electro interlude.
