Boxcutter - The Dissolve

Deft And Malleable Production Styles
Boxcutter-TheDissolve-2.jpg
The highly underrated Boxcutter has always skirted around the subtler more melodic edges of the dubstep continuum. But dubstep doesn’t even factor on ‘The Dissolve’ until fourth track ‘Cold War’ enters, with its digital blips and Streetfighter samples. Elsewhere, Boxcutter flirts competently with funky house (‘Zabriskie Disco’), UKG (‘Moon Pupils’) and even mid-’80s funk (‘TV Troubles’), all showcasing his deft and malleable production styles.
