The Bishops - The Bishops

Transports you back to your comfort zone
_original
Imagine it’s Friday night. You’ve got the transistor on full blast, you’re gluing on your lashes, back-combing your bouffant, whilst Colin polishes his Lambretta mirrors, when out of nowhere The Klaxons ‘Atlantis To Interzone’ blurts out of your next door neighbour, Chanel’s, souped-up Subaru car stereo.

It then dawns on you, it’s not 1960, it’s 2007, the year of New Rave - and you hate the stuff. But it’s OK because you have a copy of The Bishops to transport you back to your comfort zone. Led by identical twins, Mike and Pete Bishop, and drummer, Chris McConville, The Bishops bring a little slice of Beatle mania back to the hood, not just with their sound but also with their look. Dressed identically in sharp suits, with haircuts to match, their album was recorded on a Studer 8-track recorder, ex-Abbey Road mixing desk and a raft of vintage amps to ensure an authentic analogue sound. Who said they don’t make ‘em like they used to?!
