All We Are – Sunny Hills

A Kwes-produced return shot through with neon groove...

Here's what to do: download ‘Sunny Hills’, delete lead single ‘Human’ and rename it. Did no-one at Piccadilly Records explain what aesthetic consistency is to the Liverpool-based trio?

Eight of these nine tracks constitute the best album for night driving under city street-lights since Growler's estimable ‘City Club’. The Kwes-produced record is shot through with neon groove and laced with the duskiness of The Cure’s Gothic Trilogy. If they'd called it something like 'Red Lights' and released 'Animal' as a more representative lead single this would have been a potential 9/10. Sad!

8/10
