Lightspeed Champion's Dev Haynes on stage at the Liverpool Academy as part of Liverpool Sound CityLightspeed Champion's Dev Haynes on stage at the Liverpool Academy as part of Liverpool Sound CityFormerly part of the proto-nu rave band, Test Icicles, Dev now favours a more melodic, song based approach.His debut solo album 'Falling Off The Lavendar Bridge' showcased a melodic, folk sound which drew great acclaim.Glasgow's Sons & Daughters played at the Liverpool Academy on Wednesday 28th May as part of Liverpool Sound City.Their second, and most recent, album 'This Gift' was produced by Bernard Butler.In Clash's review of 'This Gift' we said "with gifts like these Sons & Daughters are spoiling us."Hercules & Love Affair appeared at Clash party at Liverpool Sound City, held at Barfly on Thursday 29th May.The brainchild of New York Dj Andrew Butler, the debut album saw appearances by Antony Hegarty.Other guest vocalists on the album included Nomi and Kim Ann Foxman,Releases on New York's hip DFA record label, the album was co-produced by Tim Goldsworthy

Liverpool Sound City is a four day mix of live music and workshops which also saw Sir Paul McCartney return to his hometown for a huge celebratory gig.
