N. Irish rockers hit the road

Is it Derry? Is it Londonderry? Either way, Northern Ireland's Fighting With Wire have been busy of late, with the visceral rockers set to release a new single.

Emerging from the ever productive Northern Irish music scene, Fighting With Fire have made an indelible impression on the British rock scene. The brainchild of guitarist Cahir O'Doherty (also of Jetplane Landing) and drummer Craig McKean the group are famed for taking a DIY approach.

Releasing a series of singles on their own label, the band stopped for a breather in mid-2007 to construct their debut album. A stunning live act, Fighting With Wire managed to capture some of that energy on record with the resultant album 'Man Vs Monster' gaining across the board plaudits.

The band recently returned to the studio to record their new single. Titled 'Sugar' it is anything but sweet, sounding like an army of guitars stampeding their way into your brain via the eardrum. But in a good way.

Fighting With Wire will release their new single 'Sugar' on March 2nd. The band will play the following tour dates:

February
5 Bristol Thekla
6 Portsmouth Cellars
7 Southampton Hamptons
8 Oxford Academy
9 London Barfly
