The Fab Four Undead Film Project
Zombie Beatles Film

So you’ve been up all night smoking jazz cigarettes, listening to the White Album with Night Of The Living Dead flickering without sound on the TV. In a revelatory comedy moment you say to your mates, “wouldn’t it be funny if there was a book/movie about The Beatles where they were zombies?”. Amidst much hilarity your friend says “yeah, but only if the lead zombie killer was Mick Jagger”.

Perhaps it didn’t happen quite that way…but still we were laughing into our coffees this afternoon over the news that Alan Goldsher’s comedy novel ‘Paul Is Undead’ has been optioned as a film by Double Feature partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher (producers of Pulp Fiction).

In a reimagining of the Beatles story with the band recast as flesheaters, Machiavellian undead guitarist John Lennon kills and then reanimates Paul, George & Ringo, traversing the world snacking on fans and being chased by none other than Mick Jagger, zombie hunter extraordinaire. Additional comedy, if it were needed, is provided in the sinister form of Yoko Ono who has been cast as an evil Ninja Lord.

Sher has been quoted as saying ''How can you not love a book where Jesus agrees with zombie John Lennon, that the Beatles are in fact bigger than him?'' and assures the public that it should be taken in the most lighthearted way and is in no way meant to be disparaging to The Beatles.
