Using string arrangements...

Zola Jesus is set to release her new album 'Versions' on August 20th.

Taut, daring and with no little measure of emotion, 'Contatus' saw Zola Jesus become a critical darling. Thrust into the spotlight, the singer engaged on a lengthy international tour which saw her cross paths with numerous other musicians.

Inevitably, ideas were spawned, numbers swapped and collaborations kicked off. Zola Jesus has been working with JG Thirlwell and Mivos Quartet on a lavish new album, with 'Versions' set to be released on August 20th.

Featuring full string arrangements, the album was sparked by a performance at New York space the Guggenheim last year. Zola Jesus - real name Nika Roza Danilova - introduces the project:

"'Versions' is about the bone of the music; taking approximations from past records and turning them inside out. With all framework exposed, the songs are given a new medium in which to evolve and bloom into their own tiny worlds."

'Versions' is set to be released on August 20th. Tracklisting:
