Rock 'n' roll is supposed to be fun.
It's about feeling, about raw emotion which completely bypasses the cerebral cortex. It's about dancing until you're exhausted, then picking yourself up and dancing some more.
Zig Zags share this buoyant, cartoonish vision of rock 'n' roll. Essentially born from a Venn diagram containing the finest riffs of Black Sabbath, Hawkwind and Black Flag, the group's output to date is visceral, blood curdling and outrageously fun.
The band's debut LP - produced by underground legend Ty Segall - is due to receive a full release this summer from In The Red.
It's a riot from start to finish, with Zig Zags' caveman stomp linking metal's first wave to the blossoming Stateside DIY scene. Working with Jess Hundley on a new video, the clip for 'Magic' is every bit as hilariously engaging as their music.
