Zeppelin To Tour Without Plant

John Paul Jones Claims

Led Zeppelin could tour without iconic lead singer Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones has claimed in a new interview.

The band reformed last year for a one off show in honor of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, and since then speculation has dogged the group with fans eager to see a full tour. Earlier this month reports circulated claiming that the group were rehearsing with singer Myles Kennedy, after Plant claimed he wouldn't tour as he was exhausted.

Bass player John Paul Jones has now told BBC Radio Devon that the band are experimenting with different singers. "We want to do it," he explained. "It's sounding great and we want to get on and get out there."

Jones was keen to point out that the band would only tour if they had the right singer. "It's got to be right," Jones said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be on board."
