Yoko Ono Welcomes Beatles Game

Artist Praises New Rock Band Game

Yoko Ono has praised the forthcoming game produced by Rock Band in which layers can pretend to be a member of her late husband John Lennon's band The Beatles.

The new game is set to be released in time for Christmas 2009, so Santa's elves will no doubt be putting in for some overtime come December. The game will reportedly feature songs from the group's entire career, ranging from mop tops to fully grown beards.

In a new interview with US magazine Entertainment Weekly the artist said the surviving members of the band had no problems agreeing to the new project. "All of us are actually pretty hip, so we said yes," she explained. "I'm personally very excited."

"With so many young kids into The Beatles, it's a start to a beautiful new page in (the band's) history. Maybe they'll start to make music and not just listen to it, and really understand what it's about."

The Beatles game will be available in time for Christmas.
