Yo La Tengo London Show
New album also set for release
Prolific indie heroes Yo La Tengo are set to play a London show ahead of the release of their twelfth album 'Popular Songs' in September.
Since the band's formation in the early 80's with husband/wife duo Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley, Yo La Tengo have released a clutch of highly eclectic indie albums thats seen them go on to collaborated with Yoko Ono and appear in the film I Shot Andy Warhol as The Velvet Underground.
The group's musical output continues to surprise, with their next installment taking in epic organ directions and R&B influences. Set for release on September 7th, their twelfth album was recorded in their native Hoboken and Nashville earlier this year with long-time associate Roger Mountenot.
Yo La Tengo are now also set to play this year's Meltdown Festival alongside the likes of The Roots and Cornelius (line up details and tickets below). Curated by legendary jazz figure Ornette Coleman, the band will play on the 15th of this month at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall.
