Preview of new album released
American mavericks Yeasayer have surprised fans by offering a free download from their soon to be released new album.
Tripped out indie stars Yeasayer like to remain true to their roots. Emerging from the ever buoyant Brooklyn music scene the band are steeped in indie folklore, having battled through the Williamsburg hipsters.
Debut album 'All Hour Cymbals' was released in 2007, with Yeasayer attracting widespread acclaim. Tours on both sides of the Atlantic followed, before the group contributed new material to the compilation 'Dark Was The Night'.
Live, the band match their loose grooves to tripped out visuals making for an assault on the senses.
Recently Yeasayer returned to the studio to work on their new album. Speaking to fans the band confirmed that it would be released next year, with the working title of 'Odd Blood' being announced.
As yet, few songs from the record have been heard. The Brooklyn band have now surprised fans by offering their new track 'Ambling Alp' as a free download from their official website.
A stunning blast of non retro-psychedelia, it shows that Yeasayer's ambitions just seem to grow and grow. The new track coincides with a very special show from the group, taking to a makeshift stage in New York's Guggenheim Museum on Friday (October 30th).
Announced via their MySpace page, the band rushed through a host of new tracks in the historic surroundings.
Yeasayer are due to release their new album 'Odd Blood' on February 8th.
