Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner has worked on the design for the artwork on the band's upcoming single 'Skeletons'.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs surprised everyone in 2009. Amid a scene of indie slaughter the band survived the cull by introducing electronic elements to their music.

Guitarist Nick Zinner swapped his six string for a collection of vintage synths, producing a warm, dancefloor friendly sound. Releasing third album 'Its Blitz' last summer the Brooklyn trio stunned fans.

Taking huge risks with their sound, Yeah Yeah Yeahs produced what could well be their most audacious yet complete album to date. 'Its Blitz' won over doubting fans, the trio finishing the year with a celebratory tour.

Now Yeah Yeah Yeahs have confirmed plans to open the year with a new single. Taken from their third album, 'Skeleton' is set to be released on March 1st.

A delicate ode to destruction, which bursts into a dancefloor spasm 'Skeletons' was a stand out on the new album. Set to be released on March 1st the single will be available on limited edition seven inch.

Kept to just 500 copies the new single will feature an acoustic version of the track as a B-side. The artwork features a shot captured by guitarist Nick Zinner, who took a grainy photograph of a barn in rural Massachusetts.

A reference to the place where the song was written, it brings Yeah Yeah Yeahs full circle after the success of 'Its Blitz'.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are due to release 'Skeletons' on March 1st.
