Wu Tang Prepare Unreleased Material

New compilation confirmed

Seminal hip hop collective Wu Tang Clan are planning to issue unreleased new material on a forthcoming compilation.

In the early 90s hip hop was dominated by gangster posing. A collective of top New York rappers and producers, Wu Tang Clan emerged with an all encompassing doctrine that turned the band into a cult of its own.

With talent including RZA, GZA, Method Man and many more Wu Tang Clan went on to dominate the next decade in hip hop. Scoring a massive hit with their debut album ‘Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers)’ the band almost immediately splintered.

Still technically an ongoing project, members of the group have been indulging themselves in a series of solo efforts since ‘The W’ in 2000. Wu Tang Clan have now confirmed details of a compilation which will feature previously unreleased material.

‘Return Of The Wu And Friends’ is due for release on March 1st. Compiled and produced by DJ Mathematics the album will contain previously unreleased material alongside remixes and solo turns.

The album stretches from ‘The W’ in 2000 to a batch of material recorded in 2008. With no official studio album due on the horizon, ‘Return Of The Wu And Friends’ is perhaps the closest things fans will have to a new Wu Tang Clan album.

The new recordings include former member Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who died in 2004. The rapper appears on the track ‘Early Grave’ alongside a host of other surprise appearances.
