Manchester band to break cover

WU LYF are set to break cover with a series of British tour dates opening in June.

World Unite! Lucifer Youth Foundation! Or WU LYF as they seem to prefer to be known. Not that we know anything about their preferences as the Manchester band seem to enjoy being cloaked in anonymity.

Playing a monthly residency in their home town. WU LYF casually batted off the advances of inept major label PR types.

Preferring to play the game by their own rules, the band hardly ever broke cover. Refusing all interview requests, WU LYF have turned a strict control of all information to their advantage creating an enormous buzz.

Now the band are preparing to release their debut album 'Go Tell Fire To The Mountain' on their own L Y F Recordings. WU LYF will drop the LP globally on June 13th, with material set to be previewed on an upcoming British tour.

Opening in Cardiff on June 9th, the tour is the first ever nationwide jaunt to be undertaken by the band. WU LYF will play shows across the country, pulling away the veil of secrecy for the first time.

Dates follow in Liverpool, Sheffield and Glasgow before a visit to London on June 17th. Taking place in the Village Underground, the show will be WU LYF's first visit to the capital since completing their debut album.

Confirming a series of shows on the continent, WU LYF will play just one British festival this summer. The band will play at the Manchester International Festival on 16th July, closing the city?s Bridgewater Tunnel to traffic and pedestrians for the first time for a special one off show.

Tickets are due to go on sale at 9am this Friday (April 15th).

WU LYF are due to play the following shows:

9 Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach
10 Liverpool Kazimier
11 Sheffield Queens Social Club
