Wonder To Perform For Obama
Motown legend to be honoured
Motown legend and prominent blind activist Stevie Wonder is set to perform a very special concert at the White House next month.
Blind from birth, Wonder has gone on to become one of the most influential and respected musicians of the modern era. His run of hit albums in the 70s brought the world such all time classics as 'Songs In The Key Of Life' which still stand as benchmarks in pop music.
The Motown singer performed at Barack Obama's inauguration, and it seems that the songwriter is set to be honoured by the newly elected American president.
The event is scheduled for the White House on February 25th, with the show culminating in Wonder being awarded the Library of Congress Award, reports the BBC.
Barack Obama is a noted fan of the singer. 60s hit 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours' was his theme song in the presidential campaign, while 'Higher Ground' was also used during campaign stops.
