Wire are set to host their own festival this Spring, with full line up details of 'DRILL : LONDON - WIRE' being confirmed.
Often labelled as a punk group due to the era which bore them, Wire are - in reality - an inscrutable, idiosyncratic phenomenon. Returning with new album 'Change Becomes Us' the band are ready to write another page in their sprawling, fascinating history.
To celebrate, Wire are planning to chair their own festival. 'DRILL : LONDON - WIRE' is set to open in March, taking control of a handful of venues around London. The line up is typically eclectic, matching psych newcomers with avant garde heroes.
Of course, Wire will be in attendance throughout while the band themselves will perform 'Change Becomes Us' in its entirety as the climax of the festival.
Running between March 21st - 24th, the line up is as follows:
21 London The Lexington (Charlie Boyer and the Voyeurs + Malka Spigel + It Hugs Back)
22 London The Lexington (Comanechi + Stranger Son + Mambas)
22 London Cafe OTO (Gazelle Twin in collaboration with Scanner + Land Observations + Edvard Graham Lewis + Klara Lewis)
23 London The Lexington (Toy + Special Secret Guests)
24 London Heaven (Wire + East India Youth + pinkflag guitar orchestra)
