Winehouse To Duet
With Snoop Dogg?
Rumours have emerged of fractious recording sessions between Grammy award winning star Amy Winehouse and hip hop guru Snoop Dogg.
Amy Winehouse is attempting to get her career back on the rails, after a troubled divorce from husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The singer has been on an extended holiday in the Caribbean, but returned with a renewed work ethic.
Winehouse last released an album in 2006 with the global success of 'Back To Black'. Busy working on a follow up, it seems that the singer is considering a frankly bizarre duet with rap star Snoop Dogg.
Best known for his laconic drawl and much publicised forays into pornography, the rapper apparently joined Amy Winehouse in the Los Angeles studio to work on two tracks.
Winehouse has a successful recording relationship with Mark Ronson, but the two remain estranged. A renowned hip hop fan, Mark Ronson could well be tempted to return to the project in order to work with Snoop Dogg.
A source in The Sun claimed: “Amy came to the studio buzzing with ideas and the pair got on really well, even though Snoop turned up in his dressing gown with slippers on, which had Amy giggling."
“They were working at a frenetic pace at first but as the day wore on and more smoke breaks took place, the work rate slackened."
“By the time their studio time ended they had a pair of tracks sketched out but no finished product.”
Smoke breaks? Snoop Dogg? Surely not.
Amy Winehouse is unlikely to finish the sessions as she has suffered problems gaining a visa to the United States due to an ongoing assault charge.
