White Stripes DVD Box Set Due

Tour film gets expanded

Seminal Detroit duo The White Stripes are due to release an expanded edition of their recent tour film.

The White Stripes have dominated the opening decade of the 21st century. Through a series of seminal releases the band inspired a garage rock revival before Jack White took off for seemingly endless side projects.

Reconvening earlier this year, The White Stripes confirmed plans to release a tour documentary based on their much publicised 2007 tour of Canada.

The band's last major live outing, it saw the duo solidify their love affair with the Northern nation. The White Stripes played every territory and province in Canada, even flying by helicopter to some of the most remote parts.

Released to cinema earlier this year, 'Under The Great White Northern Lights' was a collage of footage from various shows. Documenting the hugely ambitious tour the film was an enormous critical success.

Now the duo have announced plans to release the film as a limited edition box set. The collection will contain an extensive collection of DVDs, the band's first live album on CD and vinyl, a 208-page book and more.

However fans considering a festive purchase should be warned. The box set is priced at £110 until the end of the year, before going up to £140.

Released later this year, for more information on the box set click HERE. 'The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights' box-set contains the following:
