Beautiful animated short

M Ward has unveiled a beautiful animated film to accompany his track 'The First Time I Ran Away'.

M Ward's songwriting goes beyond the pop craft. The artist seems to draw on influences from film and literature, creating something that is rich and evocative without losing sight of the melody.

Returning with a new solo album, hopes are high that 'A Wasteland Companion' will match his back catalogue. His first for Bella Union, the upcoming album will gain a British release on April 9th.

Now M Ward has unveiled a beautiful new video. 'The First Time I Ran Way' has been perfectly matched with an engrossing animation courtesy of Joel Trussell - who previously worked on the video for M Ward's cut 'Chinese Translation'.
