Watch: James Murphy In The Comedy

Annoying the hell out of a taxi driver...

A clip featuring James Murphy in the upcoming film 'The Comedy' has emerged online.

What is a boy to do? Leaving LCD Soundsystem behind, James Murphy spent last summer spinning disco sets at some of the world's top festivals. Persuaded to try his hand at acting, the songwriter takes a hefty role in the upcoming Rick Alverson film 'The Comedy'.

Apparently playing an 'aging hipster' the role finds James Murphy reflecting on ennui in a modern, urban environment. Given its debut at Sundance, Jajaguwar reports that the film "removes the safe, rosy filter off of contemporary culture to give the audience a look behind the curtain at the cost of American Utopianism and its unintentional byproduct of numbness and disconnect."

Which kinda sounds like an LCD Soundsystem track, if we're honest. Check out a clip from 'The Comedy' below...

Of course, this isn't the only James Murphy celluloid document which is set to appear at Sundance. 'Shut Up And Play The Hits' documents the final days of LCD Soundsystem - watch a trailer below...
