Warp Plans Birthday Celebrations

One of the most respected institutions in electronic music, Warp Records is set to turn twenty later this year and has planned a host of events to celebrate its birthday.

Inspired by the explosion of energy that was Acid House, Warp Records has become one of the most important electronic music labels on the planet.

Its roster is quite simply peerless, from mainstays such as Aphex Twin to recent signings like Glasgow's Hudson Mohawke Warp has always shown impeccable taste.

To celebrate its birthday the label has arranged the Warp20 project, which will include special releases, film screening and much, much more.

One of the first releases on the project is the ultimate Warp album. Fans can vote on their favourite tracks, and the top ten will be combined with some selected by founder Steve Beckett.

The resulting album will be titled 'We Are Reasonable People' and is set to be released in the Autumn. A host of other events have been planned, with some involving Bafta award winning off-shoot Warp Films.

With live events, screenings and more releases planned, Warp's anniversary year may well be its finest yet.
