Vetiver Confirm One Off London Date
Jazz Cafe show confirmed
American psych-folk collective Vetiver have confirmed details of a forthcoming one off London show.
Loose knit West Coast acoustic collective Vetiver emerged from the indie rock underground in a haze. Recalling the heyday of hippy folk stars such as Vashti Bunyan and Bert Jansch, their deft finger picking and gentle melodies were at odds with their punk influenced peers.
Releasing their debut album on the tiny DiChristina label, Vetiver soon attracted a cult following with their lazy summer day feel and wonderful melodies. A striking live act, early British shows saw the band tied to Fat Cat Records.
Since then the band have released some fantastic music, building up a rabid cult fanbase. Snapped up Sub Pop in a worldwide deal, Vetiver released their fourth album 'Tight Knit' earlier this year.
Acclaimed by critics as their finest effort to date, it follows on from the EP 'More Of The Past' which demonstrated pastoral elements to the band's sound. Closely linked to fellow West Coast acoustic type Devendra Banhart, Vetiver are now set to pack their bags for the long flight to London.
Vetiver have confirmed details of a very special one off show. Taking over London's Jazz Cafe, the band are due to tread the boards in a venue more used to wailing saxophones than gentle harmonies.
To mark the occasion Bella Union are set to release the limited edition 12 inch 'More Of This' containing rare tracks and remixes.
Vetiver are due to play the following show:
December
10 London Jazz Cafe
