But they won't say who with

American rock giants Velvet Revolver have replaced their singer, but have refused to reveal who with.

Velvet Revolver were a proper supergroup. The band boasted several exiles from Guns N Roses, including the Los Angeles band's iconic guitarist Slash and their celebrated rhythm section.

Turning to Scott Weiland for a frontman, the one time Stone Temple Pilots singer guided the band to stardom. However creative differences led to the singer departing the band, with Velvet Revolver going on hiatus.

Since then, Slash has released a solo album with even Guns N Roses getting their act together. Taking a two year break, Velvet Revolver are now due to return with a fresh (and so far unrevealed) new singer.

Speaking to rock station The Pulse Of Radio drummer Matt Sorum broke the news that Velvet Revolver had finally found a new singer. During the interview the drummer claimed that the rock outfit had found someone that they "really like a lot" and that he believed "this could be a real turning point for the band".

"We can't make the announcement yet because we're 'dating,' you know. We haven't consummated the relationship, we haven't sat down this gentleman and made the agreement together."

Continuing, the drummer sympathised with the band's long suffering fans. "I know it's been like this long-winded, 'Oh, Velvet Revolver this, Velvet Revolver that,'" he admitted.

"We're tired of it, believe me. But we don't have the ability to just jump out there with any singer. We can't do it."

Velvet Revolver auditioned for several new singers, including Scars On Broadway singer Frankie Perez and Spacehog frontman Royston Langdon. Continuing, Matt Sorum explained that the new singer is a "known guy" and that he is "younger and stronger".

Any suggestions...?
