Vampire Weekend 2010 UK Tour
Massive tour planned
Returning world pop outfit Vampire Weekend have confirmed details of a massive new UK tour.
Vampire Weekend released their debut album last year. A stunning blend of world music and indie pop it caught people by surprise. Not easy to pigeonhole, its breezy songwriting was uniquely uplifting.
Since then, the band have barely stopped moving. Vampire Weekend toured consistently throughout the year, playing a number of high profile festival dates.
Yet somehow Vampire Weekend managed to keep writing, with Ezra Koenig even popping up on The Very Best's debut album. Debuting a new track on American television earlier this year, the band are set to return in January with their new album.
Eagerly anticipated, Vampire Weekend have announced details of their forthcoming second album. Titled 'Contra' the record is said to have several Central American themes, notably recent free download 'Horchata'.
Vampire Weekend are set to release a new single in the New Year, before 'Contra' is released on January 11th. Now the band are due to showcase their new material with a series of British tour dates.
The band are set to begin the tour in Cambridge on February 7th, before travelling around the UK. The eight show run will then climax with a show in London's O2 Academy Brixton on February 16th.
Vampire Weekend are due to play the following shows:
February
7 Cambridge Corn Exchange
8 Manchester Apollo
9 Leeds O2 Academy
10 Birmingham O2 Academy
12 Newcastle O2 Academy
13 Glasgow Barrowlands
14 Edinburgh Picture House
