U2 Re-Issue Unforgettable Fire

Special edition announced

Irish rock giants U2 have confirmed details of the lavish new special edition re-issue of 'The Unforgettable Fire'.

Bursting out of Dublin with a bag full of talent and heaps of ambition, U2 seemed to reach a crossroad's with their third album 'War'. Full of hectoring polemic from Bono, it found the group in a creative cul de sac.

Struggling to define a new direction for their next album the band received a call from Brian Eno. A musical maverick, Eno's use of chance in the recording studio had helped propel Roxy Music and Talking Heads to greater heights.

Taking on the challenge of U2's new album Brian Eno introduced the band to glacial synths. Retreating to Ireland's Slane Castle the improvised studio would find U2 able to re-invent themselves.

Spawning the single 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' the subsequent album 'The Unforgettable Fire' would go on to become a global best seller. Marking the point when U2 went form being a local concern to a global act, the album remains one of the band's most celebrated achievements.

In a new re-issue U2 are set to re-visit 'The Unforgettable Fire'. The newly expanded album is set to contain two never before heard tracks from the Slane Castle sessions - 'Yoshino Blossom' and 'Disappearing Act'.

Alongside this U2 are set to present a new DVD including music videos, a documentary and unreleased live footage from the Amnesty International Conspiracy of Hope Tour in 1986.

U2 are set to release their expanded version of 'The Unforgettable Fire' on October 26th.
