U2 For Live Lounge

Irish group drop by Radio 1

Returning Irish rock legends U2 are set to drop by Radio 1's Live Lounge for a very special performance.

U2 have been almost silent since the release of 2005's 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'. A global success story, the band will have been stung by Coldplay's elevation to the role of 'biggest band on the planet' - a throne U2 have occupied for some time.

Forthcoming album 'No Line On The Horizon' is the band's twelfth studio album, and reunites the band with longtime production team Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The album will be trailed by the single 'Get On Your Boots' - due out this week!

Bono and co. will journey in to the Radio 1 studio for a no doubt spectacular performance. Reduced to an acoustic session, the group's songwriting will shine through. Furthermore, U2 will have to navigate the notorious Live Lounge cover version.

Performing on February 27th, the band will be probed by Jo Whiley who has come out of maternity leave to interview them. Confirming her first Live Lounge guests, Whiley told reporters last week: "It's always a bit nerve-racking going back after having a baby. But having U2 playing in the Live Lounge is especially thrilling"

U2 release 'No Line On The Horizon' on March 2nd.
