If only they were...

One of the biggest rock bands on the planet, U2 are tracked by countless fans.

Yet the Irish group can still spring a surprise or two. A few moments ago the band revealed that new single 'Invisible' will available as a free single via iTunes for 24 hours.

Released on February 2nd, U2 have secured a deal so that each time the single is downloaded the Bank of America will donate $1 to the (RED) organization - a charity which battles AIDs around the globe.

The song will be aired as part of a commercial break during the Superbowl, with Danger Mouse reportedly handling production.

The news comes fresh from the Irish band writing a new track for 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom'.

A profile of the iconic South African performance, U2 contributed the Oscar nominated 'Ordinary Love' - which you can stream below.
