Twisted Wheel February UK Tour

Oldham newcomers hit the road

Oldham indie newcomers Twisted Wheel have unveiled plans to open 2010 with a lengthy tour.

Twisted Wheel take their name from a legendary Manchester Northern Soul establishment, and the band's musical roots extend back a long way. In love with Oasis the band's psych indebted indie rock saw them earn a loyal fanbase.

Touring the nation, the group came to the attention of Paul Weller who invited them onto his current UK tour. With the Modfather's backing Twisted Wheel could well become one of 2010's most important bands.

Having spent the year touring with boyhood heroes Oasis the group released their debut album over the summer. Self-titled, Twisted Wheel's new effort oozed passion and sincerity, but failed to set the charts alight.

Subsequent tours have seen fans flock to the group, with Twisted Wheel perhaps being a slow burning success rather than an overnight sensation. Perhaps like the Northern Soul fans of yore the band need to 'Keep The Faith'.

Twisted Wheel have now confirmed plans to support Jet on a Japanese tour before returning to the UK. The band are set to open the tour in Birmingham on February 11th before heading out across the nation.

Dates in Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield and more are due to follow before the tour finishes in Leicester Music Cafe on March 20th.
