Electro is now almost a dirty word.
Closely tied to the fashion world, it seems to have fallen firmly out of favour with the cognoscenti. Yet for all its faults, the electro-house scene has still produced more than its fair share party starting, battle hardened anthems.
One half of Hey Today, NICKEL remains firmly on the fun, frisky side of the electro-house divide. Working with Parisian powerhouse Kitsune, the producer has is responsible for remixing the likes of The xx, The Teenagers, Gossip and more.
Working on his own material, NICKEL is set to release new EP 'ZYGM' on February 4th. Hooking up with UK imprint Police, there are hints of driving, propulsive Detroit techno alongside discontent of punk and the flashing neon of electro.
A six track release, 'ZYGM' matches NICKEL's production with a number of guest producers. You can expect remixes from the likes of Abstraxion, Jean Nippon, Jenson Interceptor, Remute and more.
Handed a quick preview, ClashMusic is proud to present TWR72's take on 'ZYGM'. A slightly more in your face re-working, you can stream it below.
