Track Premiere: Neil Davidge – ‘Slo Light’

Massive Attack collaborator goes solo in style…

You might not think you know the work of Neil Davidge. You might well be wrong.

With a CV including stints working alongside the likes of Massive Attack, David Bowie, Damon Albarn, Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, UNKLE and Primal Scream, he’s collaborated with the best and some. Oh, and he also composed the music for the huge Xbox 360 title Halo 4 – the highest-charting video game OST ever. (Related: read Clash's best-ever video game soundtracks.)

Now, Davidge is releasing his debut solo LP ‘proper’, ‘Slo Light’. Released via 7Hz on March 2nd (February 25th in the US), it’s a set that focuses the Bristol musician’s evident ability in a new way, creating a coherent body of beats and beauty, tension and the most wonderful release.

A wealth of vocalists feature on ‘Slo Light’, including Cate Le Bon, Sandie Shaw and Karima Francis. The title-track is blessed by the talents of Stephonik Youth, and Clash is pleased to premiere it below.
