Track Of The Day 26/9 - The Trouble With Templeton

Flowers In Bloom
The Trouble With Templeton

The internet may have made the world immeasurably smaller, but Australia remains a hell of a long way away.

Which is perhaps the way Australians like it. The nation has its own unique character, its own idiosyncratic way of doing things, which extends into their music scene.

The Trouble With Templeton are already a cult property Down Under, with their challenging, introverted songwriting winning widespread acclaim. Inking a deal with Communion, the band are now setting their sights on Europe.

Debut single 'Six Months In A Cast' is set to be released on October 7th, and to celebrate Clash is able to bring you something special.

'Flowers In Bloom' has a soft, poetic touch with Thomas Calder's lyrical flair coming to the fore. The gentle arrangement contrasts the immediacy of the songwriting, as The Trouble With Templeton provide the perfect backdrop for Calder's delivery.

Listen to it now.

The Trouble With Templeton have confirmed the following UK shows:

October
1 Brighton The Haunt
3 Kingston New Slang
4 Guildford Boilerroom
5 Bristol Start The Bus
6 London Notting Hill Arts Club
