Emerging from the mosaic of squats which stretch across the Christiania district, Mercedes has already impressed some bona fide legends. Crossing paths with Wu-Tang icon Ol' Dirty Bastard, Lauryn Hill once free-styled about her (self-cut, naturally) hair.
Now Mercedes is ready to go it alone. Working with producers such as Tim Powell, MNEK, Dimitri Tokovoi, Cores, Si Hulbert, Nextmen, Kill the Noise and Breakage the Danish artist has developed a sound which nods towards her urban roots yet has an edgy, enticing pop sensibility.
New single 'Live In The Speaker' is a tour de force, the sort of opening statement Mercedes has waited her life to give.
