Track Of The Day 22/2 - Holy Esque

St.
Holy Esque

Glasgow has been suspiciously quiet of late.

Oh sure, the city isn't exactly silent - there's always a gaggle of true believers pushing things forward - but the Scottish city seems to be taking a short breather from its habit of coughing up inspiring, era-defining bands.

Until now. Holy Esque introduced themselves last year, with their Kevin Burleigh produced debut EP effortlessly expanding on their live potential. Partly epic, partly Industrial and wholly inspiring it found the band presenting an ideal - something which spanned music and visuals, studio work and live performance.

Now they're ready for their next move. Once again teaming up with Kevin Burleigh the four piece ventured into the studio to work on their next batch of material. Continually evolving, stretching past definitions, Holy Esque have returned with something which is quite, quite special.

'St.' will be released on March 25th, and ClashMusic is able to bring you the exclusive first stream of the title track. Powerful, anthemic rock music with a Futurist edge, it's sonic brutality is matched by a tenderness which can only come with a knowledge of classic songwriting.

An engrossing character study, Pat Hynes recently revealed that 'St.' "revolves around appreciation and belief, in life and in one's self. It portrays a character who loses everything around him through an actual fear of loss, which in turn, results in bitter tragedy".

Listen to it below.

'St.' is set to be released on March 25th.
