Over the course of their eight year journey, Broken Family Band built a dogged, devoted cult following.
Wonderfully evocative songwriters, the group's output - at times country, at others folk, always riveting - retains its sharp power.
Lead voice Steven James Adams is now working on his lonesome, piecing together material at his home studio in the London area of Walthamstow.
The resulting album is aptly titled 'House Music'. Written and recorded entirely on his own terms, the material finds Steven James Adams working alongside a small, handpicked batch of friends.
"I've had such a good time doing this," he commented recently. "It was an opportunity to make music exactly the way I wanted, with people I love dearly and no compromises. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out".
'House Music' is out today (September 1st) and Clash is able to premiere the video for highlight 'Tears Of Happiness'.
