Liverpool’s music scene is in a pretty healthy state right now. Earlier this month ‘Liverpool Sound City’ once again flexed its musical might and asserted its growing presence on the UK festival circuit. As a result of this growing reputation there’s plenty of exciting bands to be found in the area, and Wirral act The Red Suns are certainly one.
Last night they played to a packed out Zanzibar crowd in their hometown supporting Merseyside hero Miles Kane who looked his fans in the whites of their eyes during a one-off tiny show. The four-piece already have a full album ready to go and are showcasing tracks on the road in the build-up to its release.
Theirs is a darkly tinged psychedelic sound with a broodingly intense atmosphere. Live too frontman David Dowler personifies this by gazing at crowds with a transfixed semi-demonic stare while soaring riffs echo around him. It’s powerful stuff. Check out upcoming single ‘We’ll Make Time’, a track taking it’s cues from the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen and The Cure. Leave your thoughts on it below…
