Track Of The Day 17/2 - Christian Löffler

All Comes
Christian Loeffler

Can melancholy ever truly be intense?

By definition it sweeps across the soul, falling as gently as leaves from a tree - it's a silent pain, one that creeps softly in the night.

Yet sometimes the softest of blows are the ones which leave the greatest impact. Christian Löffler's music is often tagged as melancholic, and there's definitely a yearning, a sullen emptiness in his work.

Where it is most effective, though, is when the German producer is at his most subtle, his most fragrant. New mini-album 'Young Alaska' is billed as being rooted in autobiography, with Christian Löffler once again fragmenting techno into unusual new mosaics.

Ahead of this, album highlight 'All Comes' is set to be given a standalone release. Available on fetching seven inch vinyl, it features the plaintive vocals of frequent collaborator Gry.

The pair work in almost perfect harmony. Gry can give most to the depth of Löffler's emotions, barely resorting to words as she teases out each nuance of the German artist's production.
