The name Oli Boyston may not be familiar to you, but his music could well be.
The multi-instrumentalist has frequently collaborated with producer Dan Carey, while his own work under the Boxed In moniker resulted in a sparkling piece of Moshi Moshi supported psych pop last year.
Follow up single 'Run Quicker' is out this week via Nettwork Records, and it's a driving, probing new track. There are hints of Krautrock in the percussion, while the vocals betray a slighter darker sense of psychedelia with Boyston unafraid to push himself to the fore.
Out now, a series of remixes have been commissioned, each one pushing 'Run Quicker' in a new direction. Clash is able to unveil a re-working courtesy of The 2 Bears' own Raf Daddy, which is sheer electronic bedlam.
Pushing Boxed In towards a house direction, it swaps the endless rhythms of the autobahn for the frenetic pulse of the Illinois highway.
