After almost a decade of solo performances, Malcolm Middleton recently decided to strap on his electric guitar.
Working within a band format, the Scottish songwriter seemed to spark up with a host of new ideas. Human Don't Be Angry was formed, with the group releasing their Really Quite Good debut album on Chemikal Underground earlier this year.
Now they're back. Human Don't Be Angry have lined up a short burst of tour dates and - lest the stall be bare - the band have lined up something special for the merch table. 'Midnight Noodles' is a five track EP, with a limited edition pressing set to be available on each of the upcoming shows.
If any are left over when the dust settles - and given the nature of Middleton's fan base that's unlikely - then Chemikal Underground will sell them direct from their web shop. Once again, though, don't bet your house on that happening.
Thankfully, the label have gifted Clash readers something special. Opening instrumental 'Mumbo Jumbo' is our latest Track of the Day - there are some Krautrock influences, some Industrial tones and some focussed guitar playing from re-energised six stringer Malcolm Middleton.
